Kuroo Sameheda, a yakuza soldier, is on the run for his life after stealing from his boss Sawada. During a chase through the forest Sawada's car is struck by an SUV drove by Toshiko Momojiri who is also on the run, but for different reasons. During the crash Toshiko is knocked unconscious and Sameheda is able to make good his escape with Toshiko in tow. The two are then chased across Japan by gun crazy, deadpan gang members dressed in over the top, high end, fashion clothes. They are also being followed by Yamada, an amateur hit man. Yamada was hired by Yohachi Shimida, Toshiko's twisted uncle to bring her back to him.

Yamada's role in the film is largely comedic. He is something of an otaku, and is also an Amateur Radio operator, sporting the callsign JI2CRX. Amateur Radio gets lampooned somewhat, though only in passing. For example, Yamada's car, like his choice of clothing, is rather unfashionable, and it is festooned with antennas and a assorted radio gear, none of which we get to see in any great detail.

The opening credits of the film show Yamada listening on headphones, with a coiled mic cable and mag mount antenna in the foreground.
